It is critical that Managers do everything possible to effectively manage their Time. Try the following:
  • Use a daily “to do list”, focused on Results, NOT activities. Prepare the list for tomorrow at the end of the day today.
  • Touch things only once whenever possible. Incoming mail should either be immediately discarded, answered with a note, filed or put on a to do list if serious work is required. Same for e-mail. The delete key should be the default mode.
  • Set aside blocks of time for serious work.
  • Manage Meetings - Agenda, Selective Attendance, Location and Time Selection (Meetings scheduled for right before lunch or end of day tend to move along quickly)
